Fifteen years ago yesterday, Daddy died. As it turns out, I spent the anniversary of his death reading from my book-in-progress How to Draw a Nekkid Man at our local library. Giving Thanks with SNL
Appropriately enough, our church service last Sunday centered around giving thanks. There was the usual scripture, hymns and prayers — and a great reference to a Saturday Night Live skit our rector had just seen. A parody on the iPhone 5 complaints, this very funny skit drives home the point of how much we have to be thankful for, while once again underscoring there is more truth in comedy than in tragedy.
